I am sure this question has been asked before, but I can't find it, so here goes. 1974 CR250, are the MR or MT cases most like the CR ones? I have access to a machine shop for any modifications that may be required, but can it be done! I'm not looking for a make work project but I have not had a pile of luck finding a set of CR250 cases, and yes I know they are not cheap. I look forward to all comments, and thank you in advance for your input. Regards Jim |

the mt case would be like a 73-74 case as it has the long studs.the cranks will not interchange as the sides of the mt crank are much larger and the cases have a much larger size to fit the crank.the 73-74 cylinder and head will bolt on the mt cases and the trans parts will interchange.the 75-76 cr 250 and the 76 mr250 have the same cases and has the short studs to bolt the cylinder directly to the cases.the gear boxes,clutches and ignition systems will interchange from one motor to the other with the cr,mr,mt models. |
