There is a muffler core, supposedly for Cr, MR, MT 125-250 on the Bay. I didn't know these mufflers had removable cores. Do they?? and, if so, how the heck do you remove one?? Thanks http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/HONDA-CR ... dZViewItem No core is listed in Honda parts when I look it up. |

Good question! The bike I bought(80 Cr250) had what I believed was the stock silencer and it was NOT repackable, sealed unit, but then again, I'm not sure if it was OEM. I'm actually running a silencer off of a 01 KX250 and works pretty good, had to retro-fit and do a little welding but its repackable AND aluminum and it was new for 20 bucks. |

My MR250 has the original silencer on it and the end is removeable, however I don't think it looks like that one.I'll try to remove it Friday after work and take a picture of it for you. |

Gary: Thanks, but I'm familiar with it. I know the spark arrestor comes off the MR, but I just don't see anyway to remove anything beyond that. This guy advertises this for the CR, MT and MR. Well, there is only one year of MR and the muffler for the 75-77 CR is similar in size and shape. But I don't think the MT pipe was never the same. I guess I just don't think this guy is listing this part correctly. I was hoping someone had a Super-Secret method to removing the core to rewrap it. |

I don't think tha's an MR part. I'd love to cut a stock MR muffler open, to see what's in there that makes it weigh so much. Lead as a sound buffer? Drop one in your yard, it will end up in China! |

MR: I know what you are saying. After fighting this crank seal for so long (think the new one I put in a couple of days ago sealed--cross my fingers), I assume mine is 75 percent lead/depleted uranium and 25 percent oil. |

Mitchie, good luck with the crank seal, hope it seals for ya this time. I know what you mean by "fighting that crank seal"...seems just about everthing I gotta fight with on my bikes....took me an hour just to get a rear sprocket off....lots of heat and a 4ft pipe on the wrench and every bolt was the same, they finally broke loose when the bolt was almost red hot. |

Go4ducks: Sprocket bolts: An air impact-wrench has changed my life! I don't know how I got along without one all these years. The guys on this site gave me some great beginner tips on how to use it last year, thanks again. |
