Hello everybody
I am restoring a 1979 CR 250R. The bike was a basket case. It is missing the seat, pan, foam, and cover.

I have looked a lot of places and it's really hard to find. Can anybody help me??
I will take just about anything.

Thanks all

Tyler Johnson

I'd say just watch ebay, they show up now and then. You can find foam and seat covers pretty easy, its the seat pan thats the booger.
You can also do a google search and sometimes you can find a Craigslist listing that will show up. Might have to buy a whole bike, but I found a good 1980 Honda Elsinore cr250 for $250 bucks.
Worth more than that just in parts. Good luck!

Don't know if a 125 would work or not.
Here's the measurements on one of my seats which I think the 78,79, and 80 are probably all the same.
Width on the bottom, edge to edge at the back bolt holes is 9.5"
Width on the bottom, edge to edge at the front clip bracket is 7"
Length from front bottom clip to the rear bolt whole brackets is 15"
Length of the seat on top from front to back is 21"
At least if you find something on ebay that looks close, you can ask the guy to measure it and see if its close, although I wouldn't want anything other than the real McCoy...a Suzuki or Yamaha pan might work providing you fabricate the appropriate hardware.
Look at all the bikes from 76 on up to 81 not much different.
Its a waiting game, one will show up sooner or later.
I've got one that is cracked and if I don't find one before you do, I was thinking about making a fiberglass pan and using the cracked one for a mold. The factory pan is plastic and I'm not real keen on the plastic welders and a pop rivet patch don't hold up.

I have got until Sept so I will search one out.
Ebay has helped already.

I am looking at making a nitrited stainless replacement swing arm pivot bolt since Honda has discontiuned everything for these bikes.

Would there be a market for say 10 Pivot bots???

I have the seat base only. I also have a few odds and ends for 79 125 & 250. I have some NOS parts I will get a list posted but know I have a NOS silencer for the 125.
