I'm rebuilding a 73-74 Cr250 and one of the cylinder aligment dowels that go around the cylinder studs was trashed sometime during its life... It has been cutoff flush with the case and you can see what is left of it around the stud... What I'm wondering is can you get by with only one?? When I put the cylinder on and tighten the studs it doesn't have any movement. I'm leary about trying to turn the cylinder stud out of the case... Anybody had a similar problem??

Had the same kinda thing happen to my 1980 cr250....got it out and Honda shop was able to
get one. If you can't get one from the Honda shop, check with Jastco.com....he can probably make you one if you don't have a machinist....I'd sure try and have both of them to help center the cylinder properly, don't want any possibility of cylinder movement.
