hi
what type of ignition do most people use in there cr250m 73/74.
i have a nos ignition less points are these worth installing

my ignition system was junk on my 74 elsinore. I upgraded to the PVL CDI unit.

PVL is the way to go! I have points in my 74 CR250 but they require a constant up keep in order for your CR to run correctly!

jimg - I agree - I have PVL and my race mates do not - the number of times points have let them down at race meetings its not funny - after all how can you beat your mates if they cant ride????

I've used the PVL for several years now. Works great. Much easier to start and better low end response.

I never had any trouble with the stock ignition, probably a couple thousand miles of desert racing back in the day.
