Can someone post a picture, or send me a picture of the stock cable and rubber fuel tank strap installed?
Thanks

Well you have until Feb 16th to get that thing ready for the track. As that is the first race of the season. We need all the 100s on the line we can get.

Thanks for the reply Spanner.

That is for a 79 CR125. I wanted the tank strap picture for a 1980 CR125.

I figured it out finally, and it is a pain in the a$$ of a stretch to install.

So I will make my own easy to install strap.

Thanks Again.

Spanner,
I was asking about the strap that holds the back of the tank on. On the 1980 it is a round rubber strap with a wire safety cable attached that runs the length on the rubber, with little D rings at either end. On the 1979 it is a plain flat rubber strap with steel clasps on the end.

The picture you showed was for the cable routing under the tank, which I agree is similar between the years.

I did not describe what I was looking for very well in my original post.

Thanks for the response, hope your holidays are going well.
Alex

Opps
Yeah to be honest I wasn't completly sure what you were after
Glad your sorted

My strap was also missing when I did my restoration but what I ended up doing was using
an O ring kit (one that you can make your own O ring with) to make a large strap that loops under the frame and hooks into the tank 8)

Spanner,
That's exactly what I am going to use, "O" rings.
The original strap is a bear to try and stretch all the way around the back bone tube.
I see why I have never seen one mounted.

Alex
