I realize this is not the most desirable of the CR's, but my dad had one in '82 and '83 and there is a sentimental thing. His is in pieces and i decided that a parts bike would be cheaper and less headache to get than having to chase down lots of tiny obsolete brackets and things that have been lost from his basket case bike---- Here is my parts bike, i got a kick out of the backwards side panels when i picked it up. It runs well and i was stoked to see that it still had the fork boots

This is a photo in the garage with the side panels installed the right way. I will be re-finishing my dad's old frame and re-conditioning his original engine, and using this bike as a donor for a lot of other little stuff

This photo below is the inspiration for this project (along with a few photos from my dad's collection . This bike is like new and i want mine to be as close to this condition as it can get reasonably

Lots of fun -- i will post progress pics as it starts to come together

Good luck on yer journey man! I just picked up an 81 Cr250 for perhaps the same sentimental reasons. I was 7 in 81 and remember my dad and his buddies with their red rockets while I was relegated to my Z50 and XR75. Man, I thought those bikes were so cool. It will be a lot more difficult to restore these less-desirable bikes but it will be fun to see them in all their glory again someday!
