I have an '80 cr 125 the stock kehien carb was wore out it would never clean out no matter what I did to it. I replaced it with a 34mm Mikuni in the middle and on top it's still fast the problem is when you get out of the throttle it bogs real bad I,m thinking that the float seetings are off can I change them or if i shim the floats with some small washers would this help the problem.

You set the float by bending the small tab that pushes on the float valve. No shims needed. You may have a pilot jet that is too small causing a lean situation. If it is the other way and is rich it will blubber and act loaded up down low.

I just replaced my Kiehen with a 34 mikuni on my 1980 CR125 as well. It has a 260 main jet. just wondering what pilot jet works best. I haven't had the chance to ride the bike, I'm waiting to get my forks back from the suspension shop next week.
