Hi all
I am currently mid flight on doing up an 74 MT but having trouble sourcing the correct rod. I have noticed that there are latter model cr rod kits that will fit but am reluctant to pack the bore up the 4ml to suit the length. Does anyone know if there is a rod available to thats the correct standard dimensions?
Cheers Brad.

I hunted long and hard and came up with nothing. The rod kit with the spacer is what everyone is using on the CRs and I think they are the same. I got lucky and bought a NOS crank for a fair price.

Well acording to bikebandit part numbers the 73-74 cr250m connecting rod is the same as the mt250 from 74 didnt check the others. I found a connecting rod kit at very sorry if this is against the rules I am not sure so please inform me if it is but the connecting rod kit I found was at elsinores.com it was for a 73-74 cr250 it was a hot rod kit and said it just goes in no mods required. Its worth a look pretty sure thats whats going in my mt250 anyone know if the cr crank fits the mt case?

The rod kit from Elsinores.com requires a spacer plate for 73/74 CR250M. If the MT is the same, then it will require a spacer plate also. I think the CR crank will fit the cases, but the MT has a different left crank half because of the ignition/stator.

Woosh is right the con rods are the same on both. The Honda part number is: 13201357300. Unfortunately, there aren't too many OEM rods out their anymore. The good news is you can still buy a NOS crank assembly (crank, rod, bearings) from Honda for a "measley" $500 plus shipping. Go to this link and break out your plastic, but you better hurry.
