I have just taken out the standard fork springs and wish to upgrade to better racing springs, can someone please comment on which are the best springs to go for (new standard or progressive springs or any other) and which suppliers I should contact. (price would be helpfull).
Do the new springs come in one piece or are they stil in 2 pieces?
Any tips on set up, eg oil weight and height/volume for rider 175cm tall and 139 pounds.

Thanks.

Gus,

Contact Rick at http://www.vintageiron.com/ He sells the Progressive springs for $100 USD. These springs replace your stock spring A and B. Honda recommends
165cc of ATF. Because of your weight, you can probably get decent action from 7w fork oil. I used these springs and 15w fork oil and the combination was noticeably
stiffer than stock.

Maybe some of the racers here can provide more information on fork oil levels etc. to further tailor the forks to your weight and skill level.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for the speedy reply.
The one problem I have is that I live in the UK (England) and company's tend to want to charge $100 for shipping, which is ok if your ordeing a lot of product but not for one item.
Any thoughts on how I can combine/reduce delivery charges with other shipments made to UK or if they will have a distributor in the UK?

Many Thanks.

I know exactly how you feel. A large portion of the parts I needed to restore my Elsinore came from a shop in Holland.
I have found that shipping isn't too bad if the part isn't heavy (wheel assembly) or oversized (frame). I just received
two rims from Europe via UPS and the shipping was 35 Euros (about 27 GBP) and only took two days. This box size and
weight is comparable to what you are looking at. Looks like your total with shipping would be about 100 GBP. Give Rick
a call and see what he charges. If it is too much, you are going to half to find another brand of spring because progressive
only has distributors in the U.S., Canada and Australia.

Good luck with it.

Thanks again for that information Dogger,
Have you the details of the people in Holland - may be usefull in the future for other parts, and they are a lot closer than the US.

Many Thanks.

Gus,

Check them out at http://www.cmsnl.com/search.php?s_name=elsinore Make sure you click on "partslist"
under the year and model you are looking for, to get the exploded diagrams. They aren't cheap but they have
a lot of parts nobody else does and you should save a lot on shipping.
