I ordered from him a month ago. He answered the phone and shipped the parts.

I also ordered from him several times this summer. I could not ever get him to answer the phone though I had to leave a message and he called me back.

Ouch! I called and got a human being, then I ordered stuff and it came in the mail. Just like Sears!

What's behind the dark side that I am missing?

Shoot, I am just happy when anybody does even a half decent honest job of supplying vintage parts and expert advice for old dirt bike addicts like me. Lord knows there can't be that much money in it. I can almost guarantee you he's just one man working like a dog to keep his bills paid.

Not sure why the darksided commnet but I left a message and got a call back, ordered a rod kit for my elsi and get it in the mail three days later.

I'd order again in a second. Real nice guy on the phone.

Cheers,

The reasons are from my dealings with them.. (all been discussed here before) The basic story is ordering parts, being told over the phone that the parts are in stock, credit card charged, then no parts for 3 to 4 months, no answering the phone, no call back after leaving countless messages, then when I finally do talk to someone I'm told every excuse in the book, parts finally arrive you feel better, give Don the benefit of the doubt, order more parts and go through the same process all over again!!!! You know just the basic stuff!!

If you have had good luck with them great, but that was my experience with them...

I talked to the guy on the phone about a month ago and they were moving into a new location. :) Maico only also can get some of those hard to find parts.

Funny, I heard that one too. About two years ago Don told me that they were moving into a new location and that was the reason for all the delays!! I'm not saying that they did or didn't but that was one of them... If he says that they were having a big open house/bike show and everytime you call a part will be in in "two weeks" were on to something...
