Hi there,
I need to find someone to restore my 79 CR250 tank. Can anyone recommend a reputable company that does this work? Also looking for plastic. What's available, what works, looks right, fits right?

Thanks,
Tim

There are several good shops for tank restoration. I have used and can vouch for Vintage Iron and Vintage Motorsports.
Both do excellent work for a fair price. There is a also a forum member here that goes by spedboat that is restoring
vintage Elsinores. I have'nt seen any of his tanks up close and personal but they look real nice from the pics he has posted.
Depending on the condition, budget about $1000. Count yourself lucky if you have money left over and don't feel bad if you
have to pony up more.

If you are feeling ambitious, you could always do the resto yourself and save a bunch of "beans".

I am using VMX for the plastic on my '79 resto.

If it is not dented or you can live with any dings, get it chemically stripped and powder-coated....

I can help you out for a lot less than $1000. I've been custom painting for 16 yrs. and I can e-mail pics of my '78. The cost will depend on the dents and if you want a base/clear or single stage paint job. You can also check out my website: http://www.airbrush-designs.com. As for plastic, I got mine at Vintage Iron. I had to drill the holes, but it fit and looks good.
