I used the bike in a classic hill climb last year it ran ok but i hadent time to set it up properly (due to last minute gear box problems!). It had a stock silencer and airbox on as parts are hard to get in uk, but ive got a DG expansion pipe now for a bit more power. I am thinking about entering a sprint the day before the hillclimb, but not sure how it would perform it is only a bit of fun after all!

Honda stopped publishing HP numbers about the time the MT came out so the only place you may find the numbers you want is in a magazine road test. Needless to say I don't have one or I would give you their numbers. Seems like the only ones available are on eBay now.

If you want my guessimates I would say HP 16-20 and top speed 65-70 MPH. I say this based on owning two MT250s and having ridden maybe a dozen bikes with published or known HP numbers.

I would have to estimate an MT250 has about 30 HP. Just for reference, the XL 350 from the 70's had 30 HP and the XL 250 had 20 HP. I'm pretty sure I saw those numbers in print. I'm also sure that a Honda 250 two-stroke from the 80's was about 38-40 HP. The exact engine output was usually listed in the official Honda shop manuals.
