I am putting a cr250m rear wheel on my mt250 and wanted to know if it was supposed to have a bead lock on it mine does not but there are several holes in the rim so maybe someone took it off? Also where can you buy innertubes with the correct schrader valve so I dont have to drill out the hole to fit a modern schrader valve in.

a schrader valve has 7.7 mm OD and the hole in the rim is normaly about 8,3mm.

I thought I read on here a while back that the 73 74 cr250 had a smaller hole that didnt work with todays valves and that someone still sold the corect tubes. I may be wrong I dont have my rim at the moment but can measure it tommorow.

Woosh,
Different subject... Did you get the Mikuni from Elsinores.com ? And did the manifold fit better than the stock one that you had? Still want to order one but want to use the original manifold if it fits.
It's a money thang.
Thanks,
Jeff

I did get a carb and manifold form vintage elsinores. It fits the cylinder real good but I had to remove the airbox and am going to put a pod filter on it. I am also gonna have to relocate the battery. This is on an mt250 not sure how similar the cr250 frame is to the mt250. The stock carb on the mt250 was a 28mm I think so I had to get the manifold as there was no way to get the new carb in the old manifold.

Woosh,

You can get the correct look valve at http://www.denniskirk.com. I use Kendas with the TR-6 valve which is the same
type of valve as the OE tube. Current bikes use a TR-4 valve.

TR-4 valve stem is 25mm, TR-6 is 30mm to accommodate the deeper dishing in the old style rims. Honda also specifies
a nut be threaded on the rim lock between the rim lock flange and the rim for the same reason.

Sorry one last question does the mr250 front rim use the tr-6 or the tr-4 innertube?

You can use either one. The TR-6 valved tube is what came on the bike originally.
