Im getting ready to replace the ign. side crank seal. I went to motion pro's website but dont know wich puller to order. I have a parts manual, it shows a puller, it looks like a bolt with a pilot stub at the end, but it has long been discontinued. Any help finding a suitable puller would be appreciated. |

The flywheel puller consist of a single bolt that threads into the flywheel and "pushes" it off the crank pin. Here is a link to the correct MP part: http://www.motionpro.com/motorcycle/partno/08-0027/ dogger |

I will look to be sure but I think the Motion Pro listing is wrong. We looked it up at the shop and they had the one listed in stock, but it was too small. I think it is 18mm instead of 16mm. |

MX317 is right. I measured the threads on my clutch puller (a Honda OE tool) and they ARE 18mm. I went back to the MP site and found they have an 18mm clutch puller, Part # 08-0116, but it is listed for various Kawasaki street bikes. When you use their search function and type in '73/74 Honda CR250, the 16 X 1.5 puller comes up. Sorry I didn't catch it before I posted the link I would call MP and have then send me the # 08-0116 puller. They should do an even swap and pick up the shipping for the return and the new puller since this was their fault. In my dealings with them, they are a good company that goes the extra mile to make things right. dogger |

I had a compression testing gauge that had a 18mm adapter for the large Ford spark plugs that I used in a pinch before my puller came in. You might even get one of the 18mm spark plugs and gut the insides and grind off the tang where you gap it. I used an allen bolt threaded in the end of the crank to push against. |
