Anybody out there have any experience replacing the nitrogen canister with a rebuildable one as the stock is sealed and mine is bad.

I took my 1983 shock to Rich Truinski at Tru Technologies (http://www.trumoto.com/). On the surface they may not look like vintage specialists, but Rich used to race - very successfully - a 1983 CR480R. They fully rebuilt my shock, did a re-valve and anodized it in and out. Even machined up some replacement parts. Perfect.
