Cant get a stock filter. Does anyone have a suggestion for a replacment or modification that would work. 1977 MR 175. Thanks |

Good luck. I have looked for this filter for years. I gave up and made my own. If you still have the old filter cage, you can try what I have done. It works great, but takes a little patience. You can buy universal sheets of filter foam at most well equipped bike shops. Cut pieces and rap around the steel cage until you have a good fit. Then use a hot-glue gun and glue the joints. If that is too much trouble, K&N air-filters make universal cylinder-shaped filters that with the right boot will clamp right on to the carb. Not so good for the real dirt, as water can get sucked in. good luck |

Thanks for the glue gun idea. I have the filter sheet. The glue gun will make it easier to get a good fit. |

I found a UNI filter for the mr175 - part number NU 4026. I bought it from dabbernz on ebay. Search feedback forum to find a contact link. He's in New Zealand but shipped very fast and was great to deal with. The US Uni site doesn't list it but the package references http://www.unifilter.com.au - you may be able to get it direct. |
