The 82 cr80 is a cdi unit with a pulse generator on the stator plate. Testing of the pulse gen as it advises in the manual shows no resistance between the red and white wires, white being the pulse gen, red the stator windings. Although I do seem to be getting some voltage (hard to tell with a digitial tester) from the pulse. I am having a hard time finding another stator and was hoping someone could advise me of a swap to some other model with points. Mike |

I don't think you'll be successful in finding a way to retrofit points onto a system made for a CDI unit. |

just replace the faulty cdi components..... going over to points is a pain in the ass and is a downgrade |
