Hi ---I am quite certain that the 1974 CR125m was black frame; silver with green stripe tank; silver with green oval number plates; silver fenders and, that the 1975 CR125m was black frame; silver with red stripe tank; red with black oval number plates; silver fenders--however does anyone know if there was a later 1975 CR125m that came painted red frame;red tank; red fenders;red number plates with black ovals; with typical 74/75 black /grey finned rear shocks??? I guess the simple description would be a 1975 model in 1976 color scheme. I have a " red" 1975 CR125 and I recently talked to the original owner of the bike and he stated that he bought it that way from the local Honda shop and that there was four all identicle to it when he bought it. The serial numbers confirm that it is a 1975 with a build date of 02/75. I am in Canada and I know we have had slightly different colors and models of other Hondas over the years and we did indeed have the "green stripe" 1974 (I had one) and the "red stripe" 1975's as some of my buddies had, however I had not seen an all red 1975 other than the works bikes (until now?) Any ideas/info?? Thanks
Paul

That seems a bit odd. Most 1976s were manufactured in 1975, but I doubt February of 1975 would be a 1976 model. What is your serial number? Possible someone repainted it to match 1976 colors, but can't see why your seller is lying....... Unaware of vast differences between Canadian models and U.S. models.
From Cycle Chaos:
"The CR125M1 Elsinore was sold in 1975. Only one color was available: Custom Silver Metallic with Tahitian Red. The gas tank and fenders were silver. The top of the gas tank and the number plates were red while the number plate panel itself was black. The fenders were made of plastic and painted silver. Instead of points, the electrical system had a capacitor discharge ignition (CDI). The engine was a single cylinder 2-stroke port with a 6-speed transmission. The serial number began CR125M-2000006."

For 1976:
The CR125M'76 Elsinore was sold in 1976. It came in Tahitian Red. The tank, fenders, number plate, and frame were red. The number plate panels were black. The fork legs are polished. The grips were black. The shock springs were black. The fenders were color-impregnated plastic. Instead of points, the electrical system had a capacitor discharge ignition (CDI). The engine was a single cylinder 2-stroke port with a 6-speed transmission. The serial number began CR125M-3000001.
