I bought my bike in 1974? (engine serial number 1012098) and rode it until it needed to be serviced. I got new sprockets, chain, rear wheel bearings, and brake shoes. I removed the rear wheel and muffler and put the loose parts in a box. 30 years later I found the box but part numbers 20,21,33,42 and 43 from page 39 in my 1973 owners manual are missing. Also the muffler mounting bolts are gone. From what I can see the only other problems are the gas tank has a dent about 2 inches in diameter by 1/4 inch deep and the muffler has a few small dings in it. The clutch and brake levers look a little deformed and the fenders have some small scratches. I want to paint all the painted parts on the bike but I can only find the green for the tank and the silver for the fenders. Is there any type of factory service manual or anyone with information out there that can lead me in the right direction?

I have good news and bad news. The good news is many of the parts are still available from your
friendly honda dealer. The bad news is the distance collar (33) and bearing retainer (43) aren't.

Try posting a wanted add on the "swap meet" for those two parts or you can try Ebay. New and
used ones show up from time to time.

I used the owner's manual, a Honda tech/parts manual, Showa suspension manual and a Clymer manual.
You can get buy with the owner's manual and a Clymers.

As far as the paint, the Green and Silver are the only two colors you need and the actual restoration/
painting can be as simple or difficult as your desired level of finish.

Many here have restored this same model so you should be able to get most of your questions answered
once you have some specifics.
