You might consider sending the stock Showa to Rich Truinski at Tru Technologies. He'll re-valve it to compensate for the less than optimal leverage created by the standard link. But the killer is he'll have the body anodized inside and out to look factory. Are you clued in to the Eibach springs you need to get the thing sprung right for anyone over 150lbs?

Michael, yes sir, talked to Rich and that was choice one but got lucky and got few extra bucks and was thinking why not spring for the Ohlins from a bling standpoint. I've got some billet triples for it, fastway pegs, sent off the rims to be anodized to match the factory look, frame and forks being powder coated, vforce reed, Mikuni flatslide, jug beadblasted and compression relief cut in, RaceTech emulators, and assorted other bling stuff. My only other area to be decided is go with either the PorForm pipe combo or the Vintage Iron Retro Rocket pipe combo ( has DG on it ) I had this bike several years ago and did really well on it sold it now got it back. I had the right Eibach on it when had it before so got that sorted out. I too would love to see the 480 blog as never seen it.

The blog and the bike were both victims of too many projects and too little time. I have three active kids between 8 and 14 - all parents will understand. Painful decision, but the right one. I have put some information on this site in the Reference section, but I suspect not many people find it there. I am a big fan of http://www.bannedCR500riders.com and have started to put all the CR480R stuff I can remember in a thread in the "Steelies" section.

I took a year off vintage racing and had a blast hanging out with the Hoons and racing the AF. This year dogger's excellent work has spurred me to put some effort and money into raising the Elsinore to the next level. Getting it ready for the Evolution class at the Adelanto GP end Feb.

I fully understand that as have three as well with the son being in basically year round baseball and I am the coach so not lot of time for the bikes and racing anymore but hey I had my season in the sun. I, too fully intend to go nutso on my '79 CR250 as well after I finish the 480 which gets full attention soon as just about done restoring a '92 CR500 to ride modern with buds.
