first , hello, new to this board, hit several boards on vintage jap bikes & this is the first dirt bike board to date , gotta pile of projects but currently need a coil for 76 mr. Will a crM work? any other options?? Sources?? She aint purty so im not picky. thanks jeep. OH nice board. |

The MT125, MT250, and MR175 all use the same coil. A CR125M coil should work, but the mounts are different (the input cable from the CDI may be different too). Ray |

found a coil, thanks for the info, im now in search of 2 over piston rings, I hit the usual ebay stores, no luck yet, and still no spark. |

Re the spark - it may be your stator. A guy E-mailed me who had been trying to get his MR175 running for a while, I sent him a spare stator, and boom - up and running. 1st-over rings are still around, but the larger oversizes are harder to find (they do come up on eBay fairly regularly, though). Standard-bore cylinders show up too; I've got a couple spare ones, along with a fresh 2nd OS (.020") one. Ray |
