Nice site! It's great to see another of these things rescued from a slow death.

Thanks for the link to the Jennings book! I'd never seen it before.

I wasn't brave enough to upgrade my steering stem bearings, even though my buddy told me it was a "piece of cake" on his RD350. I had the feeling it wouldn't be so simple on the MR. I just replaced the balls and greased/reassembled it, and it's been fine so far.

I'm still using my original brake cables, but Terrycables make great replacements. Both my Hondas use Suzuki right-angle throttles, which I love - Suzuki makes a number of cables in different lengths and to fit different carb sizes, and the OEM Suzuki grips are far superior to current aftermarket grips in my opinion, especially when you're tired.

I think I mentioned the 1.75" risers and Pro Taper SE ATV Mid bars before - I'm so happy with these things. I also use the shorty dogleg alloy levers sold on eBay - mine are black and blend in with the rest of the controls, but they come in natural aluminum too.

Good luck with the pipe thing - if there's anything else I can help with, just let me know. I tweaked an MT125 pipe to fit the MR, drilled out the internals for more flow, and installed it last night - the weather looks great here today so I'll take it for a run and post back about the results. This is a very different unit from the stock MR175 pipe, all top end. I tried another one a while back, but it was a poor test as it wasn't drilled and packed with crap. The 'hybrid' MT/MR pipe was on the bike briefly the other day, that pipe rocks. I can give you some ballpark dimensions for it, but like the Hooker pipe, the shapes involved are kinda weird. The first 18" of the pipe are critical on this motor.
