im trying to get a picture of the intake side of the cylinder but i cant find 1 on the internet. im trying to find out if there should be reed valves there or not. there currently is nothing there.... trying to verify

Here's a picture of the MT250 intake manifold - the flange end goes to the cylinder, and the rubber end goes to the carb - no reed valves. Since your MT has no oil injection, make sure the oil line hole near the flange has been sealed up (obviously).
