Anyone running a V force reed valve in the 79 CR250? What year of valve do you use. I believe I read a post on here that the 87 valve will work without modifications. Thanks Terry

You are correct.

you can use all reed valves from 78-01.
some yerars have 6 blades, some only 4.
i think you can use the v-force cause it fits into 480cc cylinders and 480 reeds are the same as 250´s.

would a boysen rad valve from those same years work as well? Allowing for an intake replacement at the same time

you will have problems with the carb. boot, it´s angled to the right side.

I was told that there's a spacer that I could run with the V force set up move the carb, back a little and it would help the bottom end power. Does anyone have more info. on this? Is it still avail.? T

I have seen what you speak of the guy also sells a reed setup for the cr250m. The spacer he sells is supposed to increase torque but I have no idea if it does I also dont remember who it was sorry.

most likely you could use a TRX250R spacer, they are dime a dozen and im pretty sure they share the same bolt pattern as a CR. Lots of different lengths out there from 1/4" to 1/2".
