I have a pair of cr250 forks that have some pitting on them and was wondering what other bikes have the same chrome tubes.I plan on using the same lower tubes.
Also what is the ultimate setup for these forks?
I have works performance on the rear that are laid down some using a 78 kx 125 swing arm.
I guess ahrma would not like this setup?
Thanks
Joe

These tubes were used on the xl350 and 250 the mr 250 and the mt250 also the cr250 thru 76 and maybe a few others I dont know of. I am pretty sure there is a company that puts cartridge emulators in the forks and its supposed to be pretty good. I got an al baker extension kit for mine for a little more travel and it works real nice but good luck finding one.

I bought some MR250 forks and they are 20mm longer than my CR250 forks, also the caps on the MR are held with circlips and the CR's are threaded...
I haven't purchased any of these yet as I don't have too much spare cash at the moment but they read well.. http://www.yss-australia.com/products_y ... kvalve.php

The noticeable difference between the 73-74 forks and the 75-76 models (including MR) are the top caps. I prefer the earlier screw-on caps to the PIA later model circlip ones. But they will all fit on your bike.

I also think the screw on caps are better as well the xl250 has the screw on caps. The circlip style caps use a rubber plug to seal the tops from the elements and they are nla. I have four to six sets of them somewhere if you need some but if it were me I would find a set with the screw caps.

Hey Whoosh: If you have an extra set of those rubber plugs for the top of the forks, I'd love to buy a set. Somebody stole mine a few years back. Probably the same meth head that stole my darned tailgate off my truck......
