Post subject:  74 MT250 My first project

Hi I think this will be my first post of many, Last spring I bought a 74 MT250 and I am in the process of restoring it. My tank is coming back from the body shop in a couple of weeks and I have had no luck finding the paint codes for this year, Can anyone help me with this? I need the code for orange and silver for the tank, also I believe the silver is a little different on the fenders and oil cover, the oil cover is in great shape so I will not be painting it, and I should be able to color match this. I hope?
Any help would be appreciated
Thanks

PS. great site keep up the good work

Here's what I got from the Honda parts info at Babbitt's:

TANK ASSY., FUEL *NH42M / R18* (CUSTOM SILVER METALLIC AND DAYTONA ORANGE) (Honda Motorcycle Code 0348789)

COVER, L. SIDE *NH42MC* (CUSTOM SILVER) (Honda Motorcycle Code 0350033)

FENDER, FR. *NH42MC* (CUSTOM SILVER) (Honda Motorcycle Code 0321737) - rear fender same

It appears the tank silver is metallic, while the rest of the bike is not.

Here's a couple of paint links - the audio on the first link is well worth listening to:

http://www.twowheelparts.nl/en/paint

If you want to paint your bike just like it was originally done, be prepared to spend some money. The complete NH42M Custom Silver Metallic paint kit I got last year (base flex coat/color/clear coat, enough to do maybe 3 fenders) cost over $200.

Well it's been 18 months and assembly has started, I may be slow but I get it done.
One thing I am looking for right now is how to rebuild the rear shock, when I stripped the bike the rear shocks were covered in grime, so I'm assuming that the seals are gone. Does anyone have a good reference for getting the shocks apart and buying new seals? I've searched the web to no avail!
