I'm putting this cr250 74 model back together and I seem to be having an issue
I put the cases back together and when I try to torque down the primary gear with the washer as shown in the Clymer manual, the crank pulls to the side of the case. If I do not use the recommended washer which seems to be a spring type washer (dish shaped) I get the right torque on it. The gear has a shoulder that the washer sits on top of this shoulder thus pulling the crank throught the gear and against the case. The bolt fits down inside this shoulder perfect so the gear and the end of the crank are flush. Do I really need the washer. I'm afraid the bolt will back out with out it. Or maybe I can use some blue lock tight?

BTW I am using a MR250 primary gear (as well as clutches & trans) on the billet cr crank.

Any ideas?

have you installed the primarygear the right way?
as i see in the manual the schoulder has to be at the bearingside.

Thats the problem. If I put it on with the shoulder to the bearing and torque it then the crank pulls against the case. the othe way withoout the washer it does not.

Question is.. Why is the crank pulling over when torguing the bolt on the primary.

thats your prior problem. you can´t cover this by turning the gear. may the bearing is not deep enough in the case?
