Does anyone know if you can get aftermarket exhaust pipes for a mr 250 and if so how much?

I forget which thread it is, but I think mitchie(?) put a FMF universal on his. Looks really cool, I imagine works pretty well too. Think he cut it down a bit though as it's kinda long.

Best bet is to check out eeebay. Years back I found (what I believe to be) an aftermarket Al Baker pipe for my MR.
CR pipes fit!

I don't think anyone makes one now. 73-74 low pipes, yes, but the high 75-76, I don't think so.

The 75-76 CR pipe fits right on. AMS offers one, but I think it is custom built after you order, so it might take a few weeks. I did modify an FMF muffler which looks and sounds killer, but I'm using stock pipe.

They are in the $250-$350 range, I think. I called once and I cannot remember the price I was quoted. Call and ask, they are great people to deal with.

I have a 1974 MT250. I bought one of those DG down-pipes for a CR250 off of eBay. They usually sell in the $200 range. I needed to replace the original MT exhaust manifold for a CR manifold & then the pipe fit with no problems. The new pipe is somewhat loud, but the power improvement is very noticeable.

There are a few posts about drilling the end of the original up-pipe to a larger size if you decide to stay stock.

Good luck & please let us know what you find out.
