 Post subject: 82 cr250r shock recharge

i have a 82 cr250 the rear shock is too soft how do i check the nitrogencharge or where do i get it recharged or do i just needto adjust the spring when i sit on the seat it goes down pritty easy help

out of the workshopmanual:
remove the shock absorber.
remove spring of the shock.
place the damper rod on a scale and measure the force required to compress the damper until 10mm (0.4in).
compression force: 28-38kg (62-84lbs)
if the force required is less than 28kg (62lbs), the gas pressure is too low.
recharge with nitrogen.


any suspension shop will help you by rechargeing. pressure must be 284 +/- 14 lbs.

after installing the spring, adjust the spring length to 245mm (9.6in).
don´t go less than 240mm (9.4in) or more than 259mm (10.1in).
is it still too soft at 240mm you´ll need a harder spring.
