Ive been rebuilding a couple of MT250 engines for MT projects and hit a snag. The 'complete' gasket kits I bought were, well... not complete... hmm... I reckon they are really 73/74 CR250 kits and as those bikes dont have oil pumps there is no oil pump gasket in the kits, hmm.... there also is no points cover gasket either... so much for complete!? So I looked online and the oil pump gasket is NLA from Honda so i was wondering if anyone had bought a bunch of MT250 gasket sets over the years for their CR250 and had a stack of useless-to-them oil pump gaskets they didnt want... long shot but you cant blame me for linear thinking.. ![]() |

Looks like they only have a few MT250 gaskets, but the oil pump is one of them: http://www.gasketgasket.com/sa/cart/detail.asp?pg={C826DF2C-A82F-43CA-B45E-1DF373820EE5} You'll have to copy and paste the link, this site doesn't like the brackets in the url. Ray |

Ray, Ive been trying to reach those guys for a while now but they dont answer their email. The other dodgy thing is that their website comes up as a bad site on my browser as their checkout page certificates are now out of date. Im starting to think they may no longer be in business. hmm... So still looking for gaskets if anyone has some they dont need... |

Can you cut one out of gasket material? |

Yes I thought of that, but I couldnt find any gaskets in my stash that had enough meat in them, and with those gaskets online at $1.50 I had hoped to find some, but yes it is an option if i can find some thick enough gasket paper i guess. |

Try your local automotive supply store for a roll of gasket material. An X-Acto Knife is helpful in cutting out gaskets. Good luck ~JM~ |

put your cover on a scanner and then print it on the gasketpaper. use a holepunch for the screwholes and after the holes you can cut the gasket out with scissors. |

Jon, I just found a gasket that might be the one you're looking for. It's about 52mm x 27mm, one flat end and one pointed end, with a 13mm center hole and three smaller holes (one is kind of oval-shaped). It looks identical to a gasket in an unopened MT250 gasket kit I have, and also the one in the Honda parts diagram (what I can see of it, anyway). Let me know where and I can send it to you. Ray |
