No, not I know of as a routine business; there was someone in Minn who was selling refabbed ones for about $275, and they were going for that on EBay, but he has said he won't do it anymore. A machinest friend of mine did a batch of worn ones I have, and he said it was labor intensive to do it right with the good materials. It's not an ideal design to say the least, and the main problem is there are too many hard steel on soft aluminum wear points. The fixes address this with bushings and new pins on the pivot part and fixing the grove the detent ball ears into the kick lever. There really isn't an alternative other than the 81-84 ATC 250 kickers. These open the correct way when moved to the left side on the CR 250 and fit the kicker splines. They are heavy steel and not the same leverage. The 81-83 CR250/450/480, all left side kick bikes, have different shaft and spline sizes. Every once and awhile you come across someone who has a solution; love to hear about it. Otherwise keeping aan eye out for a good one or finding a good machinist with a love of bikes is the best option. |

I think one of the problem with kick levers is the grade 8? or less bolt on it that tighten up the splines. I pulled the kick lever off the mt125 today and the bolt was bent to high heaven. I'm swapping out for a grade 12.9 allen head bolt. Most do not come with any form a zinc coverage etc so i'm probably powdercoating the head or try to find a chrome 12.9 metric allen head bolt. |
