Has anyone heard of a 12 volt conversion for a 1974 Mt250?

Pvl told me a few years back they could make a cdi setup with a 12 volt system for the lights, it wasnt cheap though.

Why do you want to swap to a 12V system? Better lighting options?

Yes I am rebuilding this bike to run back and forth to work "I work all hours of the day and night" and I have heard that the 6 volt system has issues with the lights?
Any info would be greatly appreciated.

The head lights are garbage but they dont run off of six volt dc. They run straight off of the ac current from the stator and the voltage varries with the throttle. A lot of people just put somthing different in and the h4 seems to be popular. Its a forum for the honda xl motorcycles and they had the same exact headlight setup as the mt so if it can be done to one it can be done to the other.
