how hard is it to convert a mt250 to a CR or mr 250? What is a mr in relation to the other two? :?

Different bikes... so not easy and why bother?! but yes, you can run the engines in other frames, but the MR is more like the 75/76 CR and the MT is more like a 73/74 CR from my memory...

There is performance to be gained by swapping a CR250 top end onto the MT250 lower. I don't think the MR will swap.

You will need the 1973-74 cylinder, head,piston, intake, carb & exhaust. All of these parts are highly desireable for Vintage MX racers so none are usually inexpensive.

If you're just tinkering around and don't have some special project in mind, Don't Convert: Unless you have a problem with the existing bike and you can't get replacements for the right price or at all. If you want a CR, it will be cheaper and better to get a CR. If it's a unique project you want, then go for it!

My vote would be to go the OEM (or clone) route. Probably cheaper and easier to sell if the day comes.
