What is the initial air screw mixture setting? How many turns do I back out?

Start by turning it all the way in. Adjust out from there to get a smooth idle from a warmed up bike. No more than 2 full turns out. then go to next size.

initial is 1 and a 1/2 turns acording to clymer manual

To adjust the throttle cable free play, turn the adjuster nut on the top of the carburetor in or out until the cable sheath can be pulled out of the carburetor top about 1.0mm (warm)
With the engine running and the throttle in the closed position, turn the throttle stop screw in until engine speed increases slightly.
Screw the air adjustment screw in until the engine falters and then screw it out slowly until the engine begins to run smoothly.
Slowly screw the throttle stop screw out to bring the engine to its lowest idle speed.
Hope this helps.
