Hi There...anyone know who makes a good replacement clutch kit for an 81 450. I just finished the rebuild and resto and the bike is just awesome but the clutch is starting to flare under power in 3rd and fourth and slowly getting worse. I'm not having much luck searching for better one. Does anyone know wether a later model 500 clutch will fit????? bit stumped ATM any help would be awesome. |

Barnett clutch springs ended the slippage problems I had in both my 175 motors (I use OEM plates, the Barnett plates slipped a bit from day one). If your clutch is just starting to slip, you may get away with just replacing the springs and leaving the clutch pack in place. Mine are quite a bit stiffer than stock, but lever pull isn't a problem for me. Application Guide: (the '81 CR450R uses 501-40-06011 springs): http://www.barnettclutches.com/products ... tch_cc=450 Here's where I got mine from: http://www.phatperformanceparts.com/Pro ... get a EBC clutch-kit CK1131. which oil do you use? you should only use motorcycle oil SAE 10W40 or ATF. |
