I have added the exploded parts view. The stand I am referring to is #9.

You have is Item #14 Honda MO/M1 CR 125 stand, main p/n 50500-360-810 Honda code 0340489 Shown on Honda parts 1-E-1 under Muffler-Step- Stand. I had 3 at one time but MX here in Ohio in the 70's was HUGE so accessories were common here. Nice find. |

I am trying to learn what I can about this stand since I am trying to document my build. I was told that it is a factory honda stand for a CR250M and it does fit my 250M (1973). Was this just an optional part from Honda that they offered for the CR125 and it happened to work for the CR250M, or was there a CR125 version and a CR250M version? Or was this the factory stand people would buy as an optional accessory and it happened to be added to the CR125 parts list? |

The 125 stand was totally different than the 250 because of the tapered and narrower frame rails. I have old micro fiche as references, there isnt really a way to make a copy of the pages. |

Ok great, so I think that really answers my question then. It sounds like the stand I have is a factory stand that was sold by honda as an optional accessory just for the CR250M. I wish I could find the actual part number but I does look different than the stand in the parts view for the 1973 CR250M. |

Hard to tell if that is an original Honda stand or one of the many reproductions available from Ebay. I have both and my Ebay stand looks identical to my Honda stand. The main difference is the OE Honda stand uses hollow tubing, many of the repros use solid. It's really easy to fab up one yourself. You can use the parts fiche pictures for the general shape and build it so that the height lifts the back tire a couple inches off the ground. One thing I did to make the stands a little more frame friendly was to coat the cradles with Black plasti dip, keeps the stand from scratching your cradle every time you drag your Elsie on or off. dogger |

Thanks Dogger. Was this stand the optional stand that honda has listed as part number 50500-357-811 on the 1973 CR250M parts diagram of the frame? The picture in the parts diagram looks different but I have never seen one that looked like the diagram. Thanks! |
