Hello, I'm new to the site and I am restoring or actually reconditioning a K0 Mt125 with 1100 miles on it. I bought it from the original owner. It has been a good project so far but I bought a parts bike same year and same make and I thought I would restore both gas tanks and either sell one or keep it for future use. The problem is one tank is almost 2 inches bigger at the front attach point. The tank that came off the one I am restoring is 2 5/8 inches at the front attach point and the other tank is 4 3/8 inches at the same point. Both tanks were originally silver with blue on top. My question is could the bigger tank be off a MT250? Or do you know what it fits? Thanks for the help and I look forward to learning a lot from this site. Keith |

knowing the year of each gas tank, I'm assuming they are both of the 70's vintage, that you have both a 125 tank and a 250 tank in your possesion. I'm not positive but that is how they are in the CR model anyway. Good luck on the restoration, I"m doin a 1976 CR125 and it's costing me a small fortune. Kenny |

Thanks Kenny for the reply, Both bikes are 1974 and the tank which I believe is the MT250 tank was blue on top and silver. Other than that I really don't know what year it is now. As far as fortunes go I know exactly what you mean. I just completed a 1969 Honda Mini Trail Z50 and I won't even think about adding up the receipts. This should be much better because the MT125 is in excellant shape just need to pretty it up with a little paint and a good cleaning and that's about it. I plan to use this one as my in town bike. Good luck on your CR125, and it really doesn't matter what it cost if you love what your doing and the results you get. I guess that's why we restore these old bikes is for the thrill of bringing some old piece of junk back to life and looking good. Keith |
