The wiring was a mess when I got this bike. 1975 MT250. The coil bracket was pretty obvious, but what is the bracket on the frame to the left of the coil? Also, is there some purpose for the hole through the frame to the left of the switch mount?

I went out and tried to look under the tank of my mt 125 but i could not see anything as far as the bracket goes.

My 125 has the hole in the frame also just to the left of the ignition switch but there is nothing attached ,and as far as i can remember, nothing was ever there.

I tried to look through my parts breakdown and i cant tell if anything is attached to the bracket next to the coil. If i had my tank off i'd take a picture and post it. I will try to get a pic but it might be a few days before i can get to it.

The MT250 shop manual has a photo of that area on page 31. Neither the bracket nor the hole appear to be used for anything.

Thank you Ray. Where should I attach the ground wire? It looks like it ought to go somewhere in that area.

I'm not sure where the ground is attached to the frame on the MT250, but one of the coil mounting bolts should work well. It's a good idea to clean everything down to bare metal first, then maybe a little WD40 afterwards just as a precaution.
