I'm so glad I found this place...After riding my buddy's MR 175 I decided I should have one. A week later I found one for sale. The problem is it bogs when I hit the gas. It starts and it idles ok, it revs up a bit then starts to bog. I changed the coil to a brand new one, played with the points, played with the carb, even tried my buddies carb, and it still does the same thing. I'm stumped...

It sounds like your exhaust pipe may be clogged. Try your buddy's pipe if he's cool with that, and might as well check your air filter while you're at it.

What years are the two MR's?

Air filter is new, exhaust sounds like the next thing to try. As soon as he's back in town I'll try his exhaust and see what happens... never thought to even check the exhaust. Thanks.

I couldn't resist looking into this further. I went out and pulled the exhaust off the bike. It was definitely gummed up. I torched it and it looks much better now. Need this snow to melt so I can try it out!
