I took the springs off my shocks to start repainting. The shocks aren't leaking but I can push the arm in and out pretty easy. How can I tell if they are worn out? If worn out, what do you suggest for a replacement? There are some NOS XL350 shocks on ebay. I'm wondering if those would fit? Thanks for helping with my money pit.... |

I did the exact same thing on my 125. I could push them in with very little effort but it was noticably harder to pull them back out. I read the shop manual and i think that is the way they work. Unless i misunderstood it, they are supposed to work more on the rebound and the spring is for the shock /compression effect. looks like they can be taken apart from the diagrams in the manual. but i did'nt go any farther then taking the springs off to paint. |

that is the job of the shocks and they dampen spring rate.they should push in fairly easy and be noticeably harder to pull out. Progressive Suspension makes shocks for a 74 MT250 and they are a good shock but they won't look stock. http://www.progressivesuspension.com/pr ... odelID=897 |

Thanks. I'll give them a check. |
