I bought an OE Honda rod and big end bearing for my 73 a while back.
Got both on Ebay. Unlike the more modern bikes, Honda offered the rod
and bearing for crank rebuilds.

I don't know if anyone else still makes a direct fit replacement rod if you
can't find the Honda part.

An option might be to have the crank modified to accept a different rod.
I did this for my '78 CR100 build. I had the crankshaft modified to accept
a late model CR125 rod to eliminate the weak stock rod. The engine was
going to be spinning huge RPM so it could still make power with less CCs.
ProX, Hot Rods and Wiseco all make replacement rods for the later model
CRs. If the rod lengths are the same as it was with my conversion, all you'll
need is the crank pin replaced with a larger diameter pin. Crank Works can
do this modification.

I have spent a fair amount of time on the net and on the phone trying to locate a connecting rod for my 76 cr250m. They are not made anymore and there does not appear to be an aftermarket rod available that is a direct fit replacement without modification. So, essentially I have been trying to locate one that is still sitting on someones shelf.

I found one from a company (CMS) in Europe for 77 Euro including shipping, this is about 100 US dollars.

If your interested they have two left.
