There something wrong with the rear axle. There's not enough thread to screw the nut completely. So, is it:

1- the right axle (#3)
2- the right spacers (#5 and 6)
3- the right collar (#4)

Can someone give me the total lenght of the space between the two ends of the swingarm with the wheel in place and torqued? I have approx 8". Also the spaces between the wheel and the swingarm on both sprocket and brake side? On the sprocket there's 15/16 and on the brake side it's around 7/8 or 3/4".

The width of part behind the nut, (part #4) is 3/4"

The swingarm width at the inner sides of the axle gussets on my CR is exactly 8.00", or about 203mm.

As I'm sure you're aware, that's not the correct nut. The original 94011-14020-0S castle nut is NLA, but the 94011-14000-0S is still available OEM, looks identical, and is working fine on my bike. The threads on your nut look bigger than 14mm to me, and it appears to be cocked slightly on the axle.

In one photo the bearing retainer doesn't look fully seated, as if the LH bearing is not fully bottomed into its hub recess; my retainer is flush with the hub boss it screws into. (I'm using the USA/Japan convention of LH and RH as seated on the bike)

It also seems as though the RH spacer may be wrapped with duct tape?

maybe your axle is not the right one, seems to be too short.

Thanks for the info. I was really busy the last few weeks and I didn't have time to work on the CR and completely forgot about this problem.

Ray, from the width you wrote that you have on your bike, the swingarm on my CR look Ok. So I really have the wrong axle. I'll check the lenght and compare it to the picture of "ohiomotoxer" to compare the lenght of the one I have.

About the bearing retainer, I'll double check it to see if the bearing is fully seated or if I can screw the retainer more than that.

The RH spacer is not wrapped with duct tape. It's probably only the picture that is blurry!

I agree with the bearing on the sprocket side not being fully seated. The spacer that goes through the seal on that side seems to not be in far enough. I would recheck the bearings on both sides to make sure they are fully seated in place.

By the way, looks great!

I verified the axle and the one I have is 9"1/8. The end, where the thread is, look like it as ben cuted or broke and sanded.

From the picture "ohiomotoxer" posted, I need a 9" 3/4 axle.

So now I need to find one on eBay!

It is almost completed. I need to finish the repair and paint on the side cover and found a rear axle!

Wow, I can tell I'm a lucky guy!

I was looking on eBay for a rear axle. There's many front axle but not many rear axle. I found only one and it doesn't look very good.

I took a chance and yesterday I call a guy who sold used parts in Montreal, a kind of motorcycle scrap yard. He said he will look and call me back. He call me this morning and said that he found one. So I went to see him today. His shop is at 20 minutes from my home. The one he had was really clean, almost like a brand new. So I jumped on it!

Here's a picture of the old one (top) and the one I found. You can see there's a part of thread missing on the old one.
