okay i bought a 89 cylinder from ebay because i was told by the seller this~~~>http://www.ebay.com/itm/331020099217?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649 click this link and scroll down..it says 86~89 cyl should work <~~~~ it will fit 86~89.. so i am trying to put a 89 cyl on a 86 bottom end..okay so i ran into a few problems..1 the bottom end studs were to short so i ordered the 89 studs to make it work..that should be fine..i bought a 89 spindle cam to fit the cylinder because the 86 valves was just a fuzz different..so i got the bushing the follower and the spindle cam...i then ordered a 88 crank case cover because of the corrosion problem..and the 88 waterpump came with it..and the difference in the water pumps is the 86 didnt have a arm that hooks up to the spindle cam because the 86 cyl is spring loaded..so thats why i got the water pump with the arm so now it fits the 89 spindle cam..now everything bolts up nicely..and even the gaskets are all from 86~89...other than that i see 2 extra holes in the 86 cylinder vs the 89 cyl...inside the cyl close to the reed valve side of it..the rings feel fine and everything seems like its working smooth..my question is..do you think this will work? putting the 89 cylinder on the 86 bottom end? thank you for your time Rob* if you can email me at bluemnm2o03@yahoo.com with the answer... thanks again :D
