Hi, I have a 1981 CR80. I am the second owner of it and know it's history and have all owners manuals and pretty much everything from the original grips to a vintage 80s aftermarket clutch lever for the bike. Despite it being too small ( I'm 6" 1') for me to really dig in and ride it like it was built I still enjoy taking it out occasionally 3 times or more yearly. It is in very good shape and whenever I take it out people always talk to me about how rare and nice my particular bike is. My CR is running the original piston and a replacement standard size ring. When I bought it I knew the tip end would need some work eventually, I'm just having a hard time determining when I should go ahead and rebuild the top end. I checked compression today and it was 145-146 psi max when cold. Other than psi compression numbers what does a bike "feel" like that is nearing the end of it's rebuild life? I have never driven any bike but mine and the compression has been like this since I bought it so I'm not too confident on what to look for. Should I take it to a shop and have them determine if it's time to rebuild? I want to squeeze out any more life before I rebuild the bike.
Thanks

Compression is good. I would leave it be unless the motor is just overly noisy.
