any ideas on repairing this common problem everything appeared to be in good condition when assembled, grabs but slips through kick, needing ideas to repair this problem, thanks for any info.

Maybe check the pawl and pawl spring? My MR started slipping when the spring popped out of the pawl groove. Might as well check the gear detents too.
