How can I determine the year of my CR 250 Engine? Having acquired 2 - 82 CR 250's a few years ago, they came with a stock of parts including a complete case painted in red. Last summer we locked up a crank (plate on crank flywheel parted and jammed between it and the case bottom). I pulled the engine out intending to place the red case in its place but discovered the clutch shaft has a different diameter and the basket I have will not fit it. I suspect the case is an 84 but don't know how to confirm this so that I can purchase the correct clutch parts. I still want to pull the locked up engine apart and repair it. Looking for the tools on ebay to get this job accomplished. Thanks for any help you can give me! Dave |

it can´t be 84, 84 ist totally different. 81 to 83 look like the same but they aren´t. a lot of parts are not interchangeable between the cases. but i´m sorry, i don´t remember exactly the differences. |
