This is what my axle holder looks like. I bought this bike used and noticed the bolts were loose. After tightening the bolts there was a gap between the axle holder and the lower fork tube. The gap was on one side, i think it was toward the front of the bike. The other axle holder has a gap too

Anyways, the arrow on this looks like it should be pointing forward, but it has a B next to it, which would be back? The F screws me up as well. I looked at the 1979 owners manual which is different then my 1980 bike. They list their axle holder as saying FRONT with an arrow which is a lot easier then B F and a Arrow. The holder that I left on the bike has the arrow pointing to the rear, not front.

Until someone can reply, i will in themeantime switch them so the arrow points to the front and see how they fit.

Update...the left fork lower axle mount isj stepped - on side is higher then the other. The right side doesnt look stepped but both axle holders have a high side and a low. The high on the left front axle(as if sitting on the bike) is to the rear. I am wondering why the right front is flat because there is a gap now . The bike is outside but if my memory serves me right- i think the arrows were pointing to the back.
