Just wondering what you guys are premixing at and with on your MR175s? I usually run Amsoil Saber in all my other old 2 strokes after I've broken them in and mix 100:1 with this stuff. Can buy a gallon of it and it holds over for the whole riding season for me usually. I don't want to ruin my MR so just curious to see what people have to say on the subject.

Regards,

Ven

Personally, I'd never run 100:1 unless I absolutely had to to get home or something. If your carb and motor are stock your bike will also run even richer than it normally does, which is not good for performance either.

I run Bel-Ray H1R at 36:1. It's one of the more expensive oils out there, but I believe running it saved my motor - and got me home - when my top ring snapped in '08, and also when my piston cracked nearly in half last year (both due to my own laziness). I escaped with a nick in the exhaust port the 1st time, and minor scuffing on the liner the 2nd. I've now got over 4,000 miles on a fresh 1st-over bore - half of it hard woods riding, mostly WOT - and the cylinder's still well within specs.
