Has anyone run a larger carb on the 1983 CR480? Does Mikuni make a carb larger than 38mm? J |

The Mikuni 40mm VM round slide carb is discontinued so the next size up is a somewhat impractical 44mm. There is a 40mm TM flat side carb available. (http://www.sudco.com) Begs the question why would you want to make this bike more powerful at the expense of the bottom-end? Have they started post-vintage classes in Supermoto? |

Michael, I didn't want to lose the bottom end, but I was trying to think of ways to extend the powerband a little. When we are lined up against a sea of CR480's in the near future, we might want a slight advantage to the first corner (There were 7 CR480's at the Madera National.) J |
